Mr. Charles Alexander Ford

Charles Alexander FordFamily and friends of the late Mr. Charles Alexander Ford will regret to learn of his death on July 2, 2017 in Columbus Georgia.  Born  July1, 1968 in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mrs. Vallie M. Ford and Mr. Charles " Cookie" Ford.  Early in life he Join the New Bethel Baptist church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.J. Sneed.  Charles was a 1986 graduate of Irwin county high school.  After finishing high school he joined the United States Army and served faithfully for 22 years with an honorable discharge.  Charles was a well respected husband, father, family member and friend. Mr. Ford is survived by his children: Mr. Charles Alexander 11 (Lakenya) Ford, and Mr. Carlos Sr. (Alexis) Ford. Father: Mr. Charles "Cookie" Ford, Grandchildren:  Charity Ford, Caleb Ford, Carsynn Ford, Caysen Ford, and Carlos Ford Jr.  Siblings:  Mrs. Debbie (Jimmy) Ford, Mr. Randy (Janece) McFadden, Ms. Kalisha M. Welch and Mr. Ryan Delafield.  Also a host of Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
Home goings services for Mr. Charles Alexander Ford  will be held on Saturday July 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from the New Bethel Baptist church 401 East 7th. Street in Ocilla Georgia where the Rev. Chrispother R. Douglas is pastor.  The Davis Funeral home of Ocilla has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Emily Williams Boone

emily davisFamily and friends of the late Mrs. Emily Williams Boone will regret to learn of her death. Born April 30, 1918 to Mary Williams and Bill Haynes of Ocilla Georgia.  Early in life she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Daniel Boone and to this union Ten children were born. In 1937 She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist church of Ocilla Georgia.  later in life after relocating to Chester PA she joined the Shiloh Baptist church.    Mrs. Boone is survived by her children Mrs. Carrie L. (Lloyd) Robertson of Port Deposit, MD, Dr. Kalean B. (Rev. Dr. John H. Jr.) Thompkins of Atlanta Georgia, Mr. Donald R. Boone, Chester PA, Mr. David W. Boone, Atlanta Georgia, Mr. Samuel  (Allison)Boone, Mr. Vincent E. Boone and Ms. Sharlean D. Boone all of Chester Pa.  13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great- grand children.  One sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy L. (Rev. James) Bouie of Winter Haven Fla.as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Local Home going services for Mrs.. Emily W. Boone was held on Monday July 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street in Ocilla Georgia where the Rev. Dr. Bobby Boone officiated.  Interment followed at the Ocilla city cemetery Valdosta Ave. Ocilla Georgia.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia was in charge of local arrangements.

Deacon William Ross Jr.

Born and raised in Irwin county Deacon Ross was a life time farmer, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to church and spending quality time with his devoted wife and family.

Ms. Lillian Rogers

With sadness in our hearts the Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia announces the death and funeral services for Ms. Lillian Rogers of Ocilla Georgia.  Born Sept. 18, 1940 in Irwin county Ocilla Georgia to the late Charlie and Jennie Mae Roger. Ms. Rogers passed into eternal rest on Monday April 24, 2017 at Fitzgerald Life care center in Fitzgerald Georgia.  She leaves to cherish her memories, Two brothers: Mr. Joseph Rogers of Ocilla Georgia, and Mr. Daniel Rogers of Queens New York.  also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.  Services for Ms. Lillian Rogers will be held on Saturday April 29, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the chapel of the Davis funeral home in Ocilla.  Rev. Nathan Bathell will deliver the Eulogy.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Mr. Roy Anthony McElhaney

Roy Anthony McElhaneyWith sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia announces the death and funeral services for Mr. Roy Anthony McElhaney, of 915 North Oak Street in Ocilla, Georgia.  Born November 13, 1959 to the late Coy and Gladys McElhaney of Ocilla Georgia and Mrs. Louise Edwards of Miami Fla.  Mr. McElhaney enjoyed welding, family and friends. 

Mr. McElhaney passed into eternal rest at his home on Thursday April 20, 2017.  He leaves to cherish his memories, his children:  Mrs. Yolanda (Eric) Chaney of Ocilla Georgia, Ms. Tiffany Royal of Fitzgerald Georgia, Mr. Tori Pressley of Ocilla Georgia, Mr. Rashad Turner of Tucson Az. Mr. Anthony McElhaney of Atlanta Georgia, and Alexander Smith of Fitzgerald Georgia and Marcus Wilcox of Valdosta Georgia. Reared as his own Ms. Tausha Washington (Lavosky) of Jacksonville Fla. biological mother:  Mrs. Louise Edwards of Miami Fla. siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins relatives and sorrowing friends. 

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Anthony McElhaney will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Holsey  Chapel CME church, 515 East Suwannee Street, Fitzgerald Georgia.  where the Rev. Anthony Davis is the Host pastor.  The eulogy will be delivered by Rev. Charles Anderson of Ocilla Georgia.  Mr.  McElhaney will lie in state at the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak Street in Ocilla from Friday morning 10:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning at the church until the funeral hour.  Repass will be served at the church following the service.   The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.
