Mrs. Mary W. "Mae Will" Laster

On May 28,1948 in the small community of Ocilla Irwin county Georgia, Mary W. Laster was born to the late Mr. William "Will" and Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" Laster. Mary, affectionately known as Mae Will, attended the Irwin county school system and remained in the community all of her life. Mary joined the New Bethel Baptist church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. C. L. Ponder Sr. Mary was loved by her friends, and family. She enjoyed, outside work, watching movies, and reading. Mrs. Laster departed this life on May 24, 2018 at Middle Georgia Medical center in Macon Georgia. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Ms. Denise Laster of Ocilla Georgia; two granddaughters: Ms. Shawn Laster and Mrs. Tenika Riley both of Tifton Georgia; two great grandchildren: Ahmora Terry and Blair Jimerson both of Tifton Georgia; two sisters: Mrs. Shirley Foster of Ocilla Georgia and Ms. Betty Laster of Miami Florida; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Born April 6, 1923 in Reynolds Georgia, to the late Rev. Isaac and mother Annie Kate Jenkins Talton. In addition to her parent  she was preceded in death by  her husband Rev. Amos L. Herring and several siblings.

Chester LewisFor darkness may endure for a night,  but joy cometh in the morning:  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia pause  to announce the death and home going services for Mr. Chester Lewis of Delray Beach Florida formerly of Ocilla Georgia.  Mr. Lewis is survived by his companion: Ms. Gwendolyn Campbell, Sons: Mr. Kelly Dixon, Mr. Robert Dixon,    Mr. Tarnish James Darden, Mr. Kristin Timothy Dixon, and Mr. Destiny Dixon.  Daughter: Ms. Gwendolyn Darden.  Sibling: Mrs. Shirley Riley, Mrs. Bessie Robinson, and Ms. Essie Lewis.  Also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins relatives and friends.
 

Mrs. Jo'Shondria Danyale Slade Banks

JoShondria Danyale SladeWith sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Mrs. Jo'Shondria Danyale Slade Banks of 2605 Love Ave. Tifton Georgia.  A Home going celebration for Mrs. Banks is planned for Saturday May 19, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. from the Beulah Hill family worship center, located at 321 Tifton Eldorado Road, Tifton Georgia where the Rev. L.C. Solomon serves as pastor.  Interment will follow in the Oakridge cemetery Tifton Georgia.  Mrs. Banks will lie in state at the Davis Funeral home 301 North Oak Street in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:30 until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at the church 12:00 noon until the funeral hour. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Master Adrian Mitchell Jr.

Adrian Mitchell JrOn January 6, 2016 Adrian DeMarcus Mitchell Jr. arrived in this world to his parents Adrian Mitchell Sr. and Sydney Dean.  Affectionately he became known as "Tank".  Although Tank only lived here on this earth 2 years, he brought much joy and happiness to the lives of many.  
Tank enjoyed his toy cars, playing outside and eating chicken, and grapes.  He also enjoyed watching Paw Patrol and Minions, but most of all giving hugs and kisses.  Tank received his wings on Sunday April 15th 2018 a day his family and friends will never forget.  He will always be loved and truly missed.
