Garfield GreenSome glad morning, when this life is o'er, I'll fly away.  To a home on God's Celestial shore, I'll fly away.  Just a few more wearied days and then, I'll fly away, to a land where joy shall never end, I'll fly away.  It is with sincere sympathy, the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia   31774, pause to announce the death of Mr. Garfield Green of 1062 Highway 32 West Ocilla/Mystic Georgia.  Born June 19, 1936, in Alapaha, Berrian county Georgia to the late Mrs. Ora Lee Brown Green and the Late Mr. Robert Green.  Mr. Green received God's call to his eternal home on Saturday February 17, 2024, at Plemons Gaskins health care home in Ocilla Georgia.  He leaves to cherish his memories, is children:  Mr. Terry and Mrs. Cathy Green of Valdosta Georgia, Mrs. Debra and Mr. Walter Coney of Palm Bay Florida, and Mr. Dexter Green of Ocilla Georgia.  His Siblings: Mr. Clarence Green, Mr. Robert Lee and Mrs. Jeanette Green, Pastor Ernest Charles Green, Ms. Debra Green, Mr. Raymond Green, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Mitchell and Ms. Shirley Green all of Boston Mass. Ms. Essie King of Miami Florida, Mrs. Eloise Dabney of Fort Lauderdale Florida, and Mr. Harold Green of Ocilla Georgia, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces' nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Home going celebrations for Mr. Garfield Green is planned for Saturday February 24th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove 1st. Baptist church, 217 East 7th. street, Ocilla, where Rev. James C. Curtis serves as pastor.  His brother rev. Ernest Charles Green will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave, in Ocilla.  Mr. Green will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla Friday morning, 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to pray for the Green family.

Mr. Jimmie Newton

It is with sincere sympathy that the Davis funeral home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia   31774, pause to announce the death of Mr. Jimmie Newton of 704 North McKinley Street, Ocilla Georgia.  Born November 3, 1953, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mr. Jack Newton and the late Mrs. Lucy Hodges Newton.  Mr. Newton entered into enteral rest on Tuesday January 30, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center, in Tifton Georgia.  He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings: Mr. Winfred Newton and Mr. William Newton both of Boston Mass.  A special niece: Mrs. Lydia Harris of Tifton Georgia along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.  A private home going celebration for Mr. Jimmie Newton will be held at a later date.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements. Mrs. Parmie James Matthews

parmie MatthewsPrecious lord take my hand, lead me on, let me stand.  I am weak, I am tried, I am worn.  through the storm. through the night, lead men on to the light, take my hand precious lord, lead me on.  It is with sincere sympathy, the Davis Funeral home 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia   31774 pause to announce the death of Mrs. Parmie James Matthews of Lakeland Florida.  Born July 22, 1938, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mrs. Leola James.  Mrs. Matthews received her enteral call on Sunday January 7, 2024, at her home in Lakeland Florida.  Mrs. Matthews leaves to cherish her memories, her children:  Mr. Jonathan Taylor of Las Vegas NV. Ms. Robin Taylor of Lakeland Florida, and Mrs. Tara Taylor Miller of Jacksonville Florida, Mrs. Panetta Stocker of Franklin Penn.  Her sister: Harriet Beverly of Lawrenceville Georgia,  along with  several  grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mrs. Parmie Mathews is planned for Sunday January 21 at 1:00 p.m. from the Davis funeral home chapel.  Rev. John E. Burks will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Luke cemetery in Berrian county, Coleman Warren Road.  Mrs. Matthews will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Saturday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please continue to pray for the James, Taylor and Matthews families.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Mr. Willie B. (Pop) Freeman

When I've gone the last mile of the way, I will rest at the close of the day.  And I know there is joy that awaits me, when I've gone the last mile of the way.  With sorrow in our hearts, the Davis funeral home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia   31774 pause to announce the death of Mr. Willie B. (Pop) Freeman.  Born August 14, 1960, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mrs. Ida. B. Middlebrooks and Mr. Willie B. Freeman Sr.   Mr. Freeman entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 9, 2024, at Memorial hospital in Savannah Georgia.  He leaves to cherish his memories, children:  Antonio Martin and Rod Martin. both of Ocilla Georgia. One grandson: Antonio Martin Jr. His brother: Mr. Roger Freeman of Newton Burg Germany.  Special cousins: Mr. Cleo Deberry and Mr. Jeffery Deberry of Jacksonville Florida. Three aunts: Mrs. Glenda and Mr. Willie Fred Walker of Ocilla Georgia, Mrs. Wilie Mae Anderson and Mrs. Evelyn Hams of Hattiesburg Mississippi.  One uncle; Mr. Joe Middlebrooks of San Francisco, California, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mr. Willie B. Freeman is planned for Saturday January 20th, at 4:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove 1st. Baptist church, 215 East 7th street, Ocilla Georgia where Rev. James Curtis serves as pastor and will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave. in Ocilla.  Mr. Freeman will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Kenneth Moore served as pastor and will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave. in Ocilla.  Ms. Presley will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla Saturday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to pray for the Dyous and Presley families.
