Brenda GoolsbyWhat a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grief to bear.  What a privilege it is to carry, everything to God in prayer.  It is with sincere, sympathy, the Davis funeral home, 301 North Oak Street Ocilla Georgia   31774, pause to announce the death and home going celebrations for Mrs. Brenda Ann Hall Goolsby.  Born October 20, 1958, in Maimi Florida to Mr. Robert Lee Cummings and Mrs. Mary Hall (O'Neal).  Mrs. Goolsby received God's call to her enteral home on Saturday March 23, 2024, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon Georgia surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Goolsby is survived by her children: Ms. Vermeda Golson of Douglas Georgia and Ms. Sharon Golson of Atlanta Georgia.  Her mother: Mrs. Mary Hall O'Neal of Ocilla Georgia.  Siblings: Rev David and Mrs. Catrina Wilcox of Savannah Georgia, Mrs. Jacqueline Studstill of Ocilla Georgia, Mr. Emmitt O'Neal Jr. of Ocilla Georgia, along with her grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mrs. Brenda Ann Hall Goolsby is planned for Saturday March 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from the New Bethel Baptist church, 401 East 7th street, Ocilla, where Rev. Christopher R. Douglas serves as pastor.  Her brother, Rev. David Wilcox will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave. in Ocilla.  Mrs. Goolsby will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 10:00 until12:30 p.m.   The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Mr. Willie Morris White Jr.

Herbert Coney serves as pastor.  Rev. Randy Shelly will deliver the eulogy and committal. Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave, in Ocilla.  Mr. White will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, on Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 10:00 until 12:00 noon. Ms. Essie King of Miami Florida, Mrs. Eloise Dabney of Fort Lauderdale Florida, and Mr. Harold Green of Ocilla Georgia, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces' nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Home going celebrations for Mr. Garfield Green is planned for Saturday February 24th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove 1st. Baptist church, 217 East 7th. street, Ocilla, where Rev. James C. Curtis serves as pastor.  His brother rev. Ernest Charles Green will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave, in Ocilla.  Mr. Green will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla Friday morning, 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to pray for the Green family.

Mr. Jimmie Newton

It is with sincere sympathy that the Davis funeral home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia   31774, pause to announce the death of Mr. Jimmie Newton of 704 North McKinley Street, Ocilla Georgia.  Born November 3, 1953, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mr. Jack Newton and the late Mrs. Lucy Hodges Newton.  Mr. Newton entered into enteral rest on Tuesday January 30, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center, in Tifton Georgia.  He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings: Mr. Winfred Newton and Mr. William Newton both of Boston Mass.  A special niece: Mrs. Lydia Harris of Tifton Georgia along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.  A private home going celebration for Mr. Jimmie Newton will be held at a later date.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements. Ms. Robin Taylor of Lakeland Florida, and Mrs. Tara Taylor Miller of Jacksonville Florida, Mrs. Panetta Stocker of Franklin Penn.  Her sister: Harriet Beverly of Lawrenceville Georgia,  along with  several  grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mrs. Parmie Mathews is planned for Sunday January 21 at 1:00 p.m. from the Davis funeral home chapel.  Rev. (Pop) Freeman.  Born August 14, 1960, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mrs. Ida. B. Middlebrooks and Mr. Willie B. Freeman Sr.   Mr. Freeman entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 9, 2024, at Memorial hospital in Savannah Georgia.  He leaves to cherish his memories, children:  Antonio Martin and Rod Martin. both of Ocilla Georgia. One grandson: Antonio Martin Jr. His brother: Mr. Roger Freeman of Newton Burg Germany.  Special cousins: Mr. Cleo Deberry and Mr. Jeffery Deberry of Jacksonville Florida. Three aunts: Mrs. Glenda and Mr. Willie Fred Walker of Ocilla Georgia, Mrs. Wilie Mae Anderson and Mrs. Evelyn Hams of Hattiesburg Mississippi.  One uncle; Mr. Joe Middlebrooks of San Francisco, California, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mr. Willie B. Freeman is planned for Saturday January 20th, at 4:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove 1st. Baptist church, 215 East 7th street, Ocilla Georgia where Rev. James Curtis serves as pastor and will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave. in Ocilla.  Mr. Freeman will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.
