I heard a voice of Jesus say, come unto me and rest, Lie down thy wearied one lie down, thy head upon my breast.
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs, to bear. What a privilege it to carry, everything to God in prayer. O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pains we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer. Have we tryers and temptation, is there trouble anywhere, we should never be discouraged, take it to the lord in prayer, and so on the hymn goes. I heard the voice of Jesus say, come unto me and rest. Lay down thou weary one lay down, thy head upon my breast. I heard the voice of Jesus say, behold I freely give. The living water, thirsty one, stoop down, drink and live. I came to Jesus as I was, weary, wounded, and sad. I found in him a resting place, and he has made me glad.
