Born January 17, 1947, in Brimingham Alabama to the late Mr. John Major and the late Mrs. Gertrude Davis. Ms. Major received God's call to her enteral home on Monday May 26, 2025, at her home in Ocilla surrounded by her devoted family. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter: Ms. Contressa Hendrick of Ocilla Georgia. Her siblings: Pastor Mack (Mrs. Maggie) Major of Atlanta Georgia, Ms. Essie Major, of Atlanta Georgia, Mrs. Tee and (Mr. Nathaniel) Curtis of Philadelphia Penn., Mrs. Cynthia and (Mr. Edward) Hardison of Brimingham Alabama, and Mr. Emmitte and (Mrs. Charlean) Major of Tuskegee Alabama. Several grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends. A home going celebration for Ms. Gertrude Major is planned for Saturday May 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove 1st. Baptist church, 217 East 7th. street, Ocilla, where Rev. James C. Curtis serves as pastor. Her brother Pastor Mack Major will deliver the eulogy and committal. Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 701 North Oak Street in Ocilla. Ms. Major will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday Morning 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements for Ms. Gertrude Major.
