Mr. Sammie Lester

With sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak Street Ocilla Georgia 31774 announces the death and home going celebration for Mr. Sammie Lester.  Born September 10, 1961 in Wilcox county, Rochelle Georgia to the late Ms. Carrie Bell Flemming and the late Mr. Robert Glenn.  Mr. Lester entered into eternal rest at Navicent health care center, in Macon Georgia on January 12, 2020.

Mr. Lester is survived by his Wife: Mrs. Deloris McQueen Lester, Ocilla Georgia.  Their Children: Mrs. Cassandra and Maurice Wilson of Greenville S.C., Mr. Steven Sr. and Ericka Thomas of Fitzgerald Georgia, Mr. Alfred Jackson Jr. of Ocilla Georgia, and Mr. Robert Moore of Ocilla Georgia.  Siblings:  Mrs. Mary Starling of Parrott Georgia,,Mrs. Ruby (Eddie)Youngblood of Rochelle Georgia, Mrs. Luenettie (Elder Sarrlie) Coleman of Haynes City Florida, Mr.. Louis Sherman of Washington Georgia, Mrs. Robbie Kay (Oscar) Valtentine,  Ms. Dorothy Joseph, Mr. Freddie (Mae) Glanton,Mrs.Stellar (Valbert) Panton, Mr.Ricardo Smith,Mr. Johnny (DeDe) Clanton,Mr. Roy Lee (Sandra) Glanton andMs. Clarie (David Lee) Glanton all of Dundee Florida.  Mr.Bobby (Bernadette) Youngblood Jr. and Ms. Melissa Riley both of Rochelle, Georgia,  Several in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends survives.

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Sammie Lester is planned for Saturday January 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m, for the Empowerment Temple Church of God By Faith, 600 North Oak street, Ocilla Georgia where the Rev. Kenneth Moore serves as pastor and will deliver the Eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery on Valdosta Ave.  Mr. Lester will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 7:00 p.m.  Please keep the Lester and McQueen family in your prayers.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.
