Ms. Etta Mae Troy

Etta Mae TroyWith sincerely sympathy, the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street, Ocilla, Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Ms. Etta Mae Troy of 514 cornflower Road, Ocilla Georgia.  Born April 6, 1945 to the late Mrs. Ella Mae Troy Blue and Mr. James Williams.  At an early age, she joined the New Bethel Baptist church, Lax Georgia, and later joined the Zion Hill baptist church of Birmingham Alabama, where she was a member for over 30 years.  Etta served a lead singer in the adult choir, an usher, and a member of the matrons of Zion Hill Baptist church of Birmingham, Alabama.
Ms. Troy was employed at Carraway Hospital 20 years.  She was a 1965 graduate of Ocilla High and Industrial school in Ocilla Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Troy was preceded in death by her stepfather: Wilbur Blue, Three brothers: Mr. Dewayne Blue, Mr. Ricky Al Blue, and  Mr. Johnny Mike, Sr.
Etta Mae departed this life on July 8, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany Georgia, surrounded by her loving family members.
Memories of her will forever be cherished by her special mother:  Mrs. Berdell Cain of Ocilla Georgia; two god children: Sanovia Robinson (Johnny) Bell and Darious Robinson both of Birmingham Alabama; two sisters:  Wilma Jean Gould of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Marie Smith of Washington D.C.; a brother: Michael (Marcia) Blue of Fort Lauderdale Florida; three sister-in-laws: Angela Blue, Marcia and Marcia: a very special love one: Stephanie Ann Williams:  also a host of aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, cousins, Relatives and friends survives.  
A home going celebration for Ms. Etta Mae Troy is planned for Saturday July 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the True life Restoration Christian Center where the Rev. Dr. Johnnie Edwards serves as pastor.  Eulogy will be delivered by the Rev. Charles A. Anderson Sr. pastor of New Birth Life changing church of Ocilla Georgia.  Interment will follow in the Lax community cemetery, Lax Georgia.  Ms. Troy will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 10:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 11:30 until the funeral hour at the church located 801 North Irwin Ave. Ocilla.   The Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia has charge of all arrangements.  Please join us as we lift the entire family up in prayer.
