Mr. Robert Lee (Pete) Oliver

RobertThe Friends of the late Mr. Robert Lee (Pete) Oliver of 516 East 4th street Ocilla Georgia will regret to learn of his death on Sunday at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton Georgia.  Funeral services for Mr. Oliver will be held on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. from the Enpowerment Temple Church of God By Faith located at 514 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia.  Bishop W. F. Mobley will officiate, interment will follow in the Ocilla cemetery.  Mr. Oliver will lie in state at the Davis Funeral Home at 301 North Oak Street on Friday morning 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday until the funeral hour.  

The Davis Funeral Home of Ocilla Georgia has charge of all arrangements.

Life Reflections
Mr. Robert “Pete” Oliver was born on November 7, 1937 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Spurgeon and Lateler Oliver.

In addition to his parents Pete is preceded in death by a sister, Christine Oliver White and a daughter, Willene (Cobb) Merritt.

On Sunday afternoon, November 30, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center he closed his eyes and made a peaceful transition from death to eternal life.
He attended school at Ocilla High Industrial School.
Robert was a loving husband, father and son.
He was under the spiritual leadership of Bishop Willie F. Mobley, Sr. since 2003.
He started working on the farm at a young age. Later, he was employed at the dry cleaners of Mr. Crouch and at the Swift Chicken Plant in Douglas, Georgia where he remained until his retirement in 2003. Lastly, he was employed by the Irwin County, Georgia until his departure.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Cleo Carver Oliver; four sons: Tony R. Oliver (Jeanette) of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Roger Oliver (Tammy) and Jerry Oliver (Carolyn), both of Douglas, Georgia, Marcus Barlow of Marietta, Georgia; six daughters: Wanda Johnson of Lithonia, Georgia, Bennie R. Gomez, Alicia Brooks (Eddie), Joann Collins and Linda O’Neal (Emmit, Jr.), all of Ocilla, Georgia and Alice Dunlap (Bernard) of Douglas, Georgia; 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; one special great grandson, DaMarcus Wilcox of Marietta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
