Born Thursday September 11 1952, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Mr. Lewis Hollis Sr. and the late Mrs. Rosanna Middlebrooks Hollis. Mr. Hollis received God's call to his everlasting home on Thursday September 10, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton Georgia. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife: Mrs. Barbara Parter Hollis of Ocilla. their children: Mr. Patrick and Mrs. Valorie Hollis of Orlanda Florida, Ms. Valerie Hollis of Ocilla Georgia, Ms. Nicole and Mr. Dwaylon Burks of Kissimmee Florida, Mr. Roosevelt Hollis Jr. of Ocilla Georgia, Ms. Regina Mack of Winter Park Florida, Ms. Crystal Hollis of Ocilla Georgia, and Ms. Tiffany Dyous of Warner Robins Georgia. His siblings: Ms. Fannie Hollis and Mrs. Shirlene Stewart both of Ocilla Georgia and Mrs. Linda Taylor of Allentown Pennsylvania. 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
A home going celebration for Mr. Roosevelt Holis Sr. is planned for Saturday September 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. from the Mt Olive African Methodist Epistical (AME) Church 203 East 7th. street Ocilla where Rev. Gail Hawkins serves as pastor. His friend Rev. Charles A. Anderson Sr. pastor of New Birth Life Changing Church in Ocilla will deliver the eulogy and committal. Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave. in Ocilla.
Mr. Hollis will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 10:00 until 1:00 p.m. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements for Mr. Roosevelt Hollis
