Mr. Matthew Johnson Sr.

With sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street Ocilla Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Mr. Matthew Johnson Sr., 315 East 1st. street Ocilla Georgia. Born February 11, 1935 in Valdosta Lowndes county Georgia to the late Joseph and Georgia Howard Johnson.  Mr. Johnson departed this life on Monday August 13, 2018 at Coffee Regional Medical Center, Douglas Georgia surrounded by his loving Family. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife: Mrs. Ida Mae George Johnson of Ocilla.  Children: Ms. Betty Johnson of Miami Fla., Ms. Jennifer Johnson, Mr. Douglas (Debra) Johnson, Mrs. Precious Blanding all of Ocilla.  Ms. Jamie Blanding of Atlanta Georgia.  Sibling:  Ms. Betty White of Miami Fla., Ms. Mary Johnson of Valdosta Ga., Mr. Mark Johnson of Miami Fla. and Mr. Luke Johnson of Valdosta Ga.  also a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother in laws, sister in laws daughter and son in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.

A home going celebration for Mr. Matthew Johnson Sr. is planned for Saturday August18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from the Greater Grace church of God East 4th street Ocilla Georgia.  Rev. Calvin Ross the pastor will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery on Valdosta Ave.  Mr. Johnson will lie in state  at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 10:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning at the church 10:00 until the funeral hour.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements for Mr. Matthew Johnson Sr.  Please join us in lifting the Johnson family up in prayer.
