Deacon Edward Earl "Popcorn" Frye

Earl FryeWith sadness in our hearts the Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Deacon Edward Earl "Popcorn" Frye.  A home going celebration for Deacon Frye is planned for Saturday June 9th, at 4:00 p.m. from Beulah Hill Family Life Center.  Located at 321 Tifton-Eldorado Road, Tifton Georgia, where  Rev. Solomon Hill is  pastor. Rev. Vernon Robinson will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Oakridge cemetery, Tifton Georgia.   Dea. Frye will lie in state at the Davis Funeral Home 301 North Oak Street in Ocilla, Friday morning 10:00 until 5:00 p.m. and at New Bethel Baptist church 401 Est. 7th. street where the family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  On Saturday at the church 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

WOW, "LORD" You sure enough took home a wonderful friend. Boy has he made me laugh when we worked together at PWC. Now that I work at the police dept. Earl would come by just to say hello, if I was riding down the road his window would come down and that crazy Earl would stick his head out and just say hello how ya doing. I never saw him meet a stranger. Always talked like his wife and children were the best thing in the world to him. He was so proud of them. But nothing or no one came closer to his heart than his lord and savior. AMEN,

All I have to say is that I am going to miss my friend. I know that he never met a stranger, and many times when I was going through a storm, there was Earl with a song and some encouraging words that just melted all of the pain away. There was no one like him.
