Mother Eva Louise Talton Herring
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day. With sincere sympathy, the Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia, announces the death and home going celebration for mother Eva Louise Talton Herring of Ocilla. Born April 6, 1923 in Reynolds Georgia, to the late Rev. Isaac and mother Annie Kate Jenkins Talton. In addition to her parent she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Amos L. Herring and several siblings. A life long member of the New Bethel missionary Baptist church of Lax Georgia, mother Herring served in many capacities of her church. She also served as president of the women missionary dept. of the Willacoochee Baptist association, which she loved so well. A truely, devoted woman of God, mother Herring departed this life on Sunday May 20, 2018 peacefully at her home in Ocilla, Mother Herring leaves to cherish her memories, one Son: Mr. Winlon Herring of Ocilla Georgia. One sister: mother Ida Bell Talton Anderson of Ocilla Georgia. One brother Rev. Val gene Talton of West Palm Beach Florida. Also a host of grandchildren, Great grandchildren, in- laws, nieces, nephews cousins and sorrowing friends.
A home going celebration for mother Eva Louise Talton Herring is planned for Saturday May 26, 2018 at 12:00 noon from the St. John Missionary Baptist church Satilla Rd. Wray Georgia where the Rev. Herbert Coney serves as pastor. Eulogy will be delivered by her little brother/nephew, Rev. Dr. Stanford L Anderson I. Mother Herring will lie is state at the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street, Ocilla, Friday morning10:00 until 4:30 p.m. and at New Birth life changing church on condor Dr. in Ocilla where Rev. Charles A. Anderson Sr. serves as pastor 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Also Saturday morning at St. John Baptist church 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery on North Oak street. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements. Please join in lifting the Talton and Herring up in prayer.
