Mr. James Edward Burroughs Sr.

With sadness in our hearts the Davis Funeral home of Ocilla Georogia announces the death and home going services for Mr. James Edward Burroughhs Sr. of 2614 Shanna Dr. Tifton Georgia.  Born February 18, 1947 to the late Mr. Nathaniel Burroughs Sr. and the late Mrs. Edna Edge Burroughs of Tifton Georgia.

 Mr. Burroughs was well loved by his family and friends. He was a 1967 graduate of Wilson high School and also attend Morris Brown college in Atlanta.

At an early age he joined the Strickland Temple Church of God in Christ in Tifton Georgia.  He was an employee for Fire Stone Tire and rubber as well as a construction worker for many years.

Mr. Burroughs departed this life on June 19, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton Georgia surrounded by family and friends.

Mr. James Edward Burroughs Sr. leaves to cherish his memories, two children: Mr. James Edward Burroughs Jr. and Mrs. Belinda McIntyre both of Tifton Georgia.  Two Grandchildren: Shadiamon McIntyre and Shanique Barnes both of Tifton Georgia.  Three sisters:Mrs. Edna (Grady) King, Mrs. Frances Bateman, and Ms. Carolyn Burroughs all of Tifton Georgia.  Two brothers: Mr. Nathaniel Burroughs Jr. of Miami Fla. and Mr. Claude Burroughs of Tifton Georgia.  One Aunt: Mrs. Mattie L. Minitze of Indianapolis Indiana.  Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives and friends.

Home going services for Mr. James Edward Burroughs Sr. will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Strickland Temple Church of God in Christ on south Central Ave. Tifton Georgia where Rev.Larry L.Shaw services as pastor.  Superintendent Author L. Robinson will deliver the eulogy, intermentwill follow in the Greenwood cemetery Martin Luther King Dr. Tifton Georgia.  Mr. Burroughs will lie in state at Strickland Temple Church of God in Chirst Friday afternoon 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 11:00 until the funeral hour.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla Georgia has charge of all arrangements.
