Sis. Minnie E. Bivens
The Davis Funeral home of Ocilla Sadly announces the death and home going services for Sis. Minnie E. Bivens of 504 North Lincoln street in Ocilla Georgia. Born July 28, 1924 in Barbra county Alabama, to the late Jacob and Versie Johnson. Mother Bivens departed this life on Thursdayevening March 30, 2017 at Pruitt health care in Ocilla. Upon arrival in Ocilla Irwin county Georgia, Mother Bivens Joined the Mathis Chapel Baptist church where she served faithfully as an Usher, mother of the church and as a choir member until her health failed. She was employed as a house keeper for Dr. W. C. Sams for over 40 years. At an early age she met and married Dea. R. C. Bivens who preceded her in death. Mother leaves to cherish her memories; One daughter Mrs. Sophia Kay Johnson of Ocilla Georgia. Two sons: Mr. Winfred Hall of Ocilla Georgia and Mr. Ricky Hall of Atlanta Georgia. Three grandchildren: Mr. Bryan (Tracy) Dennis of Des Moirés Iowa, Mr. Jerry (Kim) Martin of Ocilla Georgia, Mrs. Tamieka (Randy) Morgan of Avlamo Italy. A host of cousin, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Mother Minne Eva Bivens of Ocilla will be held on Monday morning April 3, 2017 at 11:00 from the Mathis chapel Baptist on Brushy Creek church road in Ocilla where Rev. Kenneth Glover is pastor. Evangelist Adrian Bellamy will delivery the eulogy, interment will follow in the Ocilla cemetery on North Oak Street. Mother Bivens will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla Sunday morning 10:00 until 7:00Sundayevening. and Monday morning at the church 10:00 until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the church social hall for repass after the committal service. The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Gone and never forgotten.
Mother Minnie was a mother to me. She shared so much of her wisdom. I loved talking with her. I will miss her uniqueness. She was a one of a kind jewel.
Look to the hills from where you help comes from and let the joy of the Lord be your strength. You will always be in my prayers.
