Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Barthell Lampkin of Ocilla will be held on Thursday December 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on the Old Five Bridges Road in Ocilla, Georgia.

Mrs. Lucille Barthell Lampkin, daughter of the late Scherry and Virginia Barthell, was born on September 6, 1941 in Ocilla, Irwin County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Bennett Lampkin; three sisters: Emma Lee, Dot and Josie Lee; four brothers: Eddie, Ike, Alvin and Willie; one goddaughter, Dorothy Merritt; one grandson, Marcus Edwards, Sr.
She received her education from the Irwin County school system and was a homemaker.
Lucille, also known by many as “Mama Cille”, was loved by everyone. She enjoyed fishing, cooking big meals for her family and attending church services.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Ms. Connie Lampkin of Ocilla, Georgia; seven sons: Mr. Robert Lampkin, Jr. (Robin) of Norfolk, Virginia, Mr. William Lampkin (Wendy) of Suffolk, Virginia, Mr. Willie Lampkin (Lenise) of Ocilla, Georgia, Mr. Michael Lampkin (Debra) of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Minister Scottie Lampkin of High Point, North Carolina, Mr. Gregory Lampkin (Indeia) of Gaffney, South Carolina and Mr. Steven Jackson of Guam, American Territory; two sisters: Mrs. Virginia Jackson of Tifton, Georgia and Mrs. Alice Barthell of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, Mr. Scherry Barthell (Marica) of Miami, Florida; four sisters-in-law: Ammerine Hall, Pastor Betty Moore (Bobby), Sharon Lampkin and Gladys Lampkin; one brother-in-law, John L. Lampkin; five goddaughters: Mrs. Jean Mobley, Mrs. Debra Weatherspoon and Ms. Cynthia Miller, all of Ocilla, Georgia, Mrs. Diane Paschal of Fitzgerald, Georgia and Ms. Leatha Harris of Savannah, Georgia; one godson, Mr. Carlos Glover of Fitzgerald, Georgia; special friends: Mrs. Barbara Jean Daniels, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Mrs. Iona Merill and Mrs. Annie Ruth Tiggett; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
